WHAM! 10 DAYS IN CHINA

Worldwide theatrical release through Trafalgar Releasing, July 2026,
followed by a global TV premiere on the BBC.

In April 1985, WHAM! travelled to China to perform a pair of concerts in Beijing and Guangzhou. At a time when China was beginning to open to the outside world, the visit became far more than a tour, evolving into a complex encounter between music, politics, ambition and cultural change.

Built around newly restored and previously unseen archive footage, the film revisits ten extraordinary days through the perspectives of the band, their team and the Chinese audiences who experienced the events firsthand. Alongside contemporary interviews, it explores the story behind one of the most ambitious and unexpected chapters in WHAM!’s history.

Forty years later, the film explores what remains of that encounter: the memories, myths and contradictions that have accumulated around it, and the unexpected legacy of a journey that - perhaps - neither side could fully understand at the time.
